-jam- the art of doing nothing
Sometimes, doing nothing is everything. ‘What’s that?’ you ask. Well, when was the last time you got ahead of yourselves and did something even though you were told not to. And it ended up in a disaster?
Still not sure what I’m talking about? Here’s an example. Let’s just say that someone you know got hospitalised.( This happened to me by the way.) And because of the complexity of the problem, all the doctors could do then was to run tests and wait for the results. What would your reaction be at that instance? Would the following sound familiar at all?
‘Doctor, why aren’t you doing anything?’ or ‘Doctor, what else can you do to help?’ or ‘She’s suffering so much! Can’t you make it stop or go away?’
Sometimes, its best just to wait. In this case, for the results of the test. What could the doctor have done then? Would running more tests and giving more jabs ease you? Just because the doctor was actually DOING something?
We’ve been brainwashed by society that we have to keep doing something if we want to make full use of our time. But like I mentioned earlier on, sometimes doing nothing is everything.
Food for thought huh?
