-jam- change. the only constant in life

I met a friend recently who told me that life wasn’t fair. He said that if you were born to rich parents, then you most probably wouldn’t have to worry too much about life. And if you were born into a slightly less wealthy family, well then, just your luck!

Doesn’t that sound all too familiar? As humans, when things fail and don’t go our way, what happens? Chances are, we’d turn around and start blaming everyone else! We might blame people for their lack of understanding, despise them for their lack of eyesight (when they do not hire us perhaps?), or even turn to God and cry foul!

But think about this before you carry on. What difference will blaming others make? Will your pointing of fingers cause others to change? More importantly, will blaming others result in them changing to suit us? I think you will find that that is hardly the case! So, the ever important rule I live my life by is this.

‘If I want things to change, then I must be the first to change!’

That way, we become proactive people. Only when you start to believing in this principle will you find that you’re taking control over your life. Only when you start changing will you start creating you own destiny.

Don’t always expect others to change for you. Ask yourself the same question, ‘would you change for others?’
