-jam- know thy strengths

Meet another friend today for dinner. This is what he said. I thought it was pretty interesting so I’m going to share it with you!

‘Know both your strengths and your weakness, and always play to your strengths. If you keep wanting to improve your weakness and leave your strengths as they are, in the end, all you will have is a better weakness - BUT still a weakness.’

Pretty deep stuff to talk about over dinner but hey, it was interesting right?

-jam- overcoming challenges and obstacles

A friend I met for lunch today complained about the huge amounts of work he had to complete. During lunch, he told me this. “You know Jeremy, life is so unfair! All my project group mates just don’t seem to be bothered with the project! And I’m the one doing all the work! Can you imagine? All 5 projects done by a single me?!” “!?$$*”

Sound familiar?

Well do you want to know what I told him? Heres what I said. “hey man, look on the bright side! If you can complete the 5 projects all by yourself, youre going to be able to do so much more in future!”

What do you think his reaction was? You know what he said? “You siao ah!?”
:)
What I’m saying here is this. We will always face obstacle after obstacle. Some of them will be as big as Mt. Everest, while some of them may be as tiny as a mouse. If we persist and stretch ourselves to do so much more, we will only end up improving ourselves!

Can you imagine how much sense of accomplishment he’ll feel once he completes all 5 projects? All by himself?

-jam- fixed… finally…

I’m a genius!

Ok. maybe not.. finally realised why all the alignments were funny and stuff. Hiaks.

I’m a genius!

-jam- slow down, take a break

Just went through my email and I found this in there. It is a forwarded mail and im not too sure how many of you have read it. For those of you who havent, take a little time off and read it. It kinda touched me and made me thankful for the many things I have in my life. I hope it brings that same fuzzy feeling to you too.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had the time
To call and say,"Hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
